The Last Stop Before Arizona — Our Favorite Quirky Gas Station Outside Las Vegas

Every road trip has that one stop you somehow end up looking forward to every single time.

For us, driving back to Arizona from Las Vegas, it’s the “Last Stop” gas station about 45 minutes outside Vegas heading toward Phoenix.

And honestly?
It’s way more than just a gas station.

Sure, we stop there to fill up the car, grab drinks, snacks, and stretch our legs after Vegas… but over time it’s become part of the adventure itself.

If you’ve ever made the Vegas-to-Arizona drive, you know there are several places to stop along the route. Some are overpriced tourist traps, some are tiny convenience stores with nothing interesting, and some will absolutely destroy your wallet if you wait too long to get gas.

That’s why we’ve learned:
Fill up before you hit Wikieup unless you absolutely have to stop there.

Trust us on this one.

Gas prices around Wikieup can get painful fast, especially if you skipped filling up in Kingman or just outside Las Vegas. We’ve made that mistake before and learned quickly.

But the Last Stop?
That place is actually fun.

The second you walk inside, it feels more like a quirky roadside attraction mixed with a Route 66 souvenir shop than a normal gas station.

There’s colorful artwork everywhere, old Las Vegas memorabilia, vintage signs, Route 66 collectibles, alien statues, UFO posters, weird mannequins, and random desert-road-trip energy that somehow makes the whole stop memorable.

And when you’re spending hours on the road, little things like that matter.

Instead of just another boring fuel stop, it feels like part of the experience.

They’ve also got plenty of food options, drinks, road trip snacks, candy, souvenirs, and all the convenience store essentials you’d want before finishing the drive home.

The prices?
Honestly more reasonable than some of the nearby stations trying to cash in on stranded travelers.

That alone makes it worth stopping.

Road trips are funny like that.
Sometimes the places you remember most aren’t the giant attractions or expensive resorts… it’s the weird roadside gas station filled with alien mannequins and Route 66 nostalgia that somehow becomes part of your tradition.

That’s exactly what Nana & Papa What’s Next is all about.

Finding fun in the little stops.
Turning ordinary travel days into adventures.
Making memories together one quirky roadside attraction at a time.
